The 2015 UK election results are in and the Conservatives are back in charge, this time governing alone. So what does the new government mean for UK small businesses?

Xero UK Managing Director Gary Turner and KPMG Head of Small Business Accounting Bivek Sharma discuss in this video.

“Millions of small business are underinvested in technology and still running on manual records and spreadsheets,” Gary says. “So there’s a real opportunity to improve their welfare and productivity and have a huge impact on the overall economy.”

Bivek Sharma adds: “Overall, I think small businesses are happy with the result. There’s the cut on national insurance contributions, there’s support with apprenticeships and there’s a tripling of the startup loans. However, our small business customers are telling us that there’s a lot more that still needs to be done.”
